Last week, our students in Grades 1-6 learned about aliyah, the immigration of Jews from all over the world to Israel. This week, we discussed that because of aliyah, there are many different cultures in Israel, and this concept is called multiculturalism.

Our students discovered some of the cultures in Israel and their different practices. For example, we learned a Yemenite dance that is part of the Jewish culture from Yemen, and we learned about the Mimouna holiday, which is part of the Moroccan culture in Israel. We shared some tea brewed in a traditional Moroccan teapot, understanding that hospitality is an important part of Moroccan culture. A wonderful time was had by all!
