A group of Solomon Schechter Academy Grade 5 students, parents, Ms. Doughan, and Mr. Erdelyi were honoured to attend an important Human Rights Walkway Induction Ceremony by the City of Côte Saint-Luc for Herbert Marx, Richard French, and Clifford Lincoln. These three cabinet ministers resigned from the Quebec government in 1988 to protest the use of the notwithstanding clause, standing courageously for freedom of expression and minority language rights. The program included words of welcome from political dignitaries, reflections on their principled stand, an opportunity for questions, and a tour of the Walkway. It was truly an exceptional learning experience for all.
